[...] Have to say that I fully support Jeff Jarvis’ discussion on the matter, I understand that people like Mr. Lemann enjoy being part of the legend and myth that surrounds a magazine such as the New Yorker and that it is a heavy burden to carry when writing a piece for them. However, the debate about journalists vs. bloggers leads me into the discussion in the Talkcrunch episode with Digg, where Michael Arrington discusses the interesting matters of newspapers, blogs, and sites such as Digg. And how the blogosphere provides journalists (primarily, the good ones) new possibilities to write and to earn more money than they’ve done as journalists, I guess Arrington himself might be an example of this. With publishing platforms such as Digg and Reddit, journalists and writers with an already existing audience as a platform have really no excuses not to start a blog. The power of self publishing, both in financial and content terms, is something that is incredibly attractive for everyone who writes for a living. [...]

[...] I spent 15 minutes on it this morning as soon as I got up. In that fifteen minutes I was able to see all of the new features. I am mentioning this, and is a credit to, the new user experience Digg has created. As explained during their podcast with TalkCrunch the ease to travel through subjects and current and upcoming topics is made so easy you don’t click around. On the left I pick a subject. The current topics pop up on the right. Above this column you can click to the upcoming topics of that same subject. The time it takes for those topics to pop up is fluid and you don’t wait through a page regen. I also noticed a small friends navigation tab on the left. Within the last 48 hours my friends have dugg 4 topics. I checked them out, sure enough those are the ones I should have been reading in the first place. So that is what I did with the remaining ten minutes. [...]

[...] I was listening to Michael Arrington’s TalkCrunch. Him and Richard McManus were interviewing Jay Adelson and Kevin Rose from Digg.com. Kevin told the story about how Digg.com got its initial rise to popularity over having a story related to Paris Hilton’s cell phone being hacked. Doesn’t that say a lot about the audience the site serves and the type of content that is getting pushed out on Digg? [...]

Thanks for the mention, Mike. There's only one Indian submitting your stories that'd be me). And only 1 Israeli I know of. I'm glad to. You really have an interesting and cool blog.

Digg is a really cool site, which is filled with interesting news and links each day. It's like an Internet Yellow Pages and News Scrapbook that is live, updating and growing every few minutes. Quite enjoyable, really.

I like Digg for more than just it's content. I believe Kevin is a rising star of the tech world. Mike I believe that of you too. You both seem openly honest and unable to hide your passion for what you are doing. Mike you backed that up with your props you gave Kevin, Jay, & Digg for helping make TechCrunch what it is today. I thought that was very cool, and it didn't come across as an ass-kiss thing to say.

Basically it was a good podcast and you should definitely listen to it.
